Hello Y'all 😊!!

Though the enemy thought he could restrict us from serving The Lord because of the virus, God already had plans for us during this season.  For the last 3 months, He gave us the privilege to serve at the Adrian Camp and Conference Center in Adrian, Georgia. We spend a lot of hours in the remodeling of the nurses station. Gary replaced all the eaves and overhangs, drywalled the bathroom and upgraded much of the electric service. I (Mari) sealed and painted the entire interior in addition to brightening up the overall look of the station. Here are some of the pictures to show you the transformation.

 

     

Gary was also instructed to take down one of the cottages, board by board on his own. I helped him a few hours with removing nails and loading a trailer with the many reusable boards taken down.

                                             
The Gaga Pit needed to be painted too, so I gave it some love. I also made a signed  and some art for the outside of the Nurse Station.

      

Right now, we are in Golden Bell Camp and Conference Center where we will be volunteering until September, God willing. We are RV Hosts and Gary is also  helping with maintenance around the camp and as requested in the Camp.
Please keep these camps in your prayers as many of the events were canceled but finally some are being allowed to open with restrictions.

God is good, in control and sitting on the Throne. He is faithful and watches over us! He has given us the gift of prayer to encourage and lift each other up, so please keep these prayer requests in your devotion and quiet times:

The Kurtz - First Trimester 2020

Hello Friends,

With what is going around the world, I (Marielos) thought I shouldn't update our travels, but since several people have been asking about them, I decided to do it. Right now, we are in Adrian, Georgia serving in a Christian camp and conference center. We will be telling you more about it in a future post.

As most of you know, we spent the first two months of the year at The Cove/Billy Graham Training Center in Asheville, NC.

At the beginning, I (Marielos) had my reservations because it was winter, but the Lord knew we needed to be there during this time when help was needed the most. On December 23rd the Cove had a fire that forced them to close the place and consequently cancelled all their events. However, what the devil meant for for evil, The Lord used it for good.



During this time, only employees and volunteers were allowed around. Work that had been put on hold for lots of years was taken care: structural upgrades, update equipment, etc. 
We also loved that we were able to get to know much closer most of the Cove staff and employees. 





Though it was winter, the weather was great. Cold, rainy and practically no snow.  Actually the day we got snow, I loved it.






By mid February, The Cove was reopened and as volunteers, we were blessed with a great dinner, enjoy a concert with Brandon Health and watch the I Can Believe movie. We had a tremendous experience in this godly & peaceful place! We can't wait to go back next year.

One of our brothers in Christ who works at The Cove blessed  us with tickets for a tour in the Biltmore House. We got to enjoy it with our beloved friends Gary & Sandy.
Wow! That place is impressive! 

We were also blessed to help one of our brother's in Christ & ministry supporters with the painting of his new house interior.







Our prayer in this unique time of all our lives is first, for each and every one of us to draw nearer to God, for all our Lord Jesus wants is a relationship with us. And second, to make time to enjoy with friends and family. Please do not let satan steal these precious moments.

Farewell 2019...Welcome 2020!

Dear friends & family,

God is good! 2019 was a year of blessing after blessing.  He has blessed us with a ministry that allows us not only to serve spreading the love of Jesus thru His given gifts to us but also travel & enjoy His creation everywhere we go. 

For our followers, friends & family in Christ who follow us via Facebook, this is a brushstroke of the last three months of 2019 and the beginning of 2020.

You know that for 3 months we served  with Samaritan's Purse Rebuilds in Houston, Texas . As always, it was a pleasure and a blessing to work with such an organized, godly ministry. We were also able to spend time with family & friends. 
We have  an early Thanksgiving celebration  with our boys and friends in College Station. 
In December we were in New York taking care of Gary's sister who had shoulder replacement. We  assisted her until she was able to do more things on her own. We are happy the Lord allowed us to spend time with her since we do not get to see her that often.



While in Pennsylvania, we visited Gary's family on his mom' side.
We also got to see friends we made while serving with Samaritans Purse. It is so beautiful to see how God brings His famiy together.





Right now, we are serving at The Billy Graham's Training Center,The Cove (https://thecove.org/) in Asheville NC. We will be there until 2nd week of March. I will be helping in the office and with some housekeeping while Gary will work in maintenance. 







From Mid-March to May, we will be serving at Adrian Camp & Conference Center. 
We will be doing some maintenance and helping at the dinning hall when events are scheduled. 

For the summer, God willing, we will be going back to Divide, Colorado in order to serve at Golden Bell Camp & Conference Center (https://www.goldenbellccc.org/) We may be helping with the RV Park and necessary maintenance & house keeping around the camp.



Serving in these camps is very rewarding since we know that our seeds are part of the thousands of families, couples, kids and teenagers who we assist & minister to thru the year.   
We are humbled and honored to know that God let us be a small part in the building of His Kingdom.

An update from the Kurtz

Hi Friends!

God is good all the time...All the time, God is good!

It's been a while since I wrote an update to our followers, friends & family in Christ.

We have already shared our volunteer job from mid January thru the end of February in Adrian Camp & Conference Center in Georgia. For those who missed it, please look at our Facebook page.
From mid March to  the end of May, we were in California helping our biggest and caring supporter to paint the exterior of his house, fences & bed. Lots of hours, but very rewarding to  see the final product.

From the beginning of June to the end of August, we served in Golden Bell Camp & Conference Center in Divide Colorado. 
I mainly  worked as one of their RV Park Hosts, together with other volunteers. I was responsible of checking in & out campers, cleaning restrooms & being sure things around were working & looking OK. I also put some hours in their Snack Shack, doing laundry, making beds, etc.

Gary, my energizer bunny, served all over the place, either on his own or together with other volunteer brothers, maintaining roads on a skid steer, building & fixing things  in different places of the camp.





Since he loves working with wood, he enjoyed building a cross and barn doors for VBS at a local church, bathroom benches and billboard for RV park, sound board for the chapel here at the camp, furniture legs, etc.

       






Today, we left for Texas to volunteer with Samaritan's Purse rebuilds in Houston & Pearland. First, Gary will spend some time with the boys while I travel to visit my family in Costa Rica. Then, he starts with SP on the 9th and I will join him on the 16th.  We are also praying (please be in prayer with us for this) to be accepted to work with Operation Christmas Child in Charlotte , NC.

With that said, we are asking our friends and family in Christ to please keep us in their prayers:

• To keeps us strong, encouraged and persevering no matter the circumstances.
• For decision making as where to go and serve, and safety while on the road to our different destinations.
